HOST-a-HIVE

Bees in your backyard. Without the stings or the guesswork.

HOW IT WORKS…

In short: I bring the bees and hives, manage the colonies, and deliver honey—you enjoy supporting pollinators without the work.

1. Free Property AssessmenT

I’ll visit your yard to evaluate whether there is a good, safe location for honey bees. I’ll look at sun exposure, water sources, and neighbor considerations. If suitable, I’ll select the best placement for your hives.

2. CONTRACT & SETUP FEE

Once we confirm suitability, you’ll sign a simple contract. An initial setup fee (which includes your first month of service) secures you bees and equipment for the term of the contract.

3. Hive Installation

I’ll bring at least two hives to your property. Each hive includes:

  • Telescoping outer cover, inner cover, bottom board, frames, deep brood boxes, and honey supers as needed

  • A healthy nucleus colony (one queen, thousands of worker bees, and a few hundred drones)

  • Installed into a single deep hive body with quality drawn comb to help the bees build quickly.

4. Ongoing Care & Updates

Every few weeks, I’ll visit your hives to:

  • Check colony health and strength

  • Monitor for pests and disease

  • Add equipment as needed for growth/honey production

  • Provide you with an inspection report (photos/notes emailed directly to you)

You don’t need to lift a finger—the hives are fully managed for you.

5. Honey HarveST

When your bees produce surplus honey, I’ll carefully harvest, extract, and return it bottled in jars that you provide.

6. Winter Prep & Care

At the end of the season, I’ll winterize the hives to give them the best chance of survival.

Through the winter, I’ll stop by monthly for gentle check as so not disturb the warm, winter cluster. This is mainly to ensure the colony has enough food.

7. Spring Renewal

When spring arrives, I’ll open the hives, assess their health, and get them ready for the new season.
